Big Bang or Big Bust?

Published by admin under For skeptics

Is it pseudo-science to claim that scientific evidence demonstrates the existence of God? Does science give good reasons to believe that God exists? The only way to answer this question is to examine the evidence. Too often people are willing to use science to criticize religion, but then are unwilling to honestly consider an attempt to use science to give evidence for religion. Such a double standard is simply inconsistent. We must give up any a priori presuppositions that science can have nothing to do with religious faith (other than "disprove" it), and let the evidence speak for itself.

Are Heaven and Hell real?

Published by admin under For skeptics

Yes, heaven and hell are real. Terribly and wonderfully real. But how does one know that heaven and hell are real? Before we answer that, let us ask you - do you know that they are not real? If you “know” that they are not real, how do you know that?

Aren’t Christians usually unhappy, hypocritical, arrogant bigots?

Published by admin under For skeptics

Unfortunately, there are many people who call themselves Christians who do not represent Jesus Christ very well. Many people get turned off to Christianity because they’ve been burned by someone who called him or herself a Christian and then turned out to be a blatant hypocrite. It is sad and frustrating that this happens so much.

Christian Exclusivism Explained and Defended

Published by admin under For skeptics

The Christian Church has always taught that Jesus is the only way to God. This doctrine is called Christian Exclusivism. Many people stumble over this doctrine, others think it is arrogant, and still others think it is unreasonable. Therefore, it will be profitable to examine more closely exactly what this doctrine is and what evidence there is to believe it. Why the Atheist Must Face Death With Despair

Published by admin under For skeptics

The title of this paper may catch some off guard. You or someone you know might be an atheist and you feel as though you have no despair when contemplating your death. I don’t doubt that there are many atheist that, in fact, have no despair over death. But, for the atheist to live without despair, they must do so inconsistently. In my paper, I will show why it is logically inconsistent for an atheist to live and face death with happiness. Continue Reading »

One True Religion?

Published by admin under For skeptics

In 1990 a friend of mine traveled to the United States from Russia. It was his first exposure to the free-enterprise system. I remember him explaining his first visit to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. He was overwhelmed with the notion of making a single selection. Vadim recognized that our nation thrives on the ideal that the more choices we have the better!
